One sure-fire way to energize your life!

Have you ever taken a giant leap of faith? You did something that you felt was right but it was a big risk. Maybe even some people told you not to do it. It didn't make sense to others, maybe it didn't even make full sense to you. But you did it anyway.

Or you wanted to but didn't. You and I know it's easier to maintain the status quo - to take the familiar and safer route. But that path can become mind-numbing over time if it's not in line with your values.

I am a big believer in taking leaps of faith from time to time.

Once I took a leap of faith when I left my secure job and went to college in my mid-30's. I wasn't even sure what I was working towards. I just knew I had to do something else. I had to step out of the familiar and move onto something better.

That was the best thing I could have done. It was well worth it! That leap eventually led me down the path of becoming a psychologist and then opening and running my private practice.

So I've been content in that place for the last 10 years, and then...I get the urge to take another leap of faith!

It started gradually - like a whisper. But it kept getting louder. When the thoughts and feelings persisted, I knew I needed to take action.

So I decided to relocate my home and my business.

But my logic says: Why would you want to do that? Your business is going well.

But something is pushing me to leap (again).

I'm drawn to peace and quiet, balance, nature, water, trees, birds, small community, LESS traffic...you get the idea.

Me...the city-person...is being drawn to these things.

So relocate it is. I am uprooting my perfectly good business and taking it elsewhere. It's daunting and exciting at the same time!

To make this leap, I have to let go of something familiar and secure to allow and make room for something fresh and new to come into my life.

So where am I right now? I'm in LIMBO! I don't like this place. Limbo means I know where I'm going but I don't know when because it's not up to me. It's up to someone else. Some things are just not within my control. When the offer comes is not within my control.

The only thing within my control is to make my house look pretty and price it accordingly. Done and done. My home is show-home ready and spic and span. My fingernails (or lack thereof) are proof of that!

But the good news is that I have taken the leap. The bad news is that I'm also in mid-air in limbo land. I don't like it there but it's part of the process.

Change is definitely driving my bus these days...white-knuckles and all. It's uncomfortable, stressful, and invigorating!

Just like I left my perfectly good job many years ago to start a new journey, I'm relocating my perfectly good business soon. I know I won't regret it because I'm moving closer to my values - peace, quiet, nature, simplicity...

So you too can tune into and get clear on your values and use them as a guide when making any decisions.

Your values will never steer you wrong.

And if you take a leap of faith keep in mind that courage doesn't come first. It comes as a result of leaping.

So where do you want to take a leap of faith in your life? Maybe even a little one. Do you hear the whispers like I did. Maybe the whisper has turned into a loud and persistent voice with an important message for you.

P.S. I'll let you know when I am relocating from Sherwood Park to Stony Plain, Alberta. I am fully operational until I relocate.
